Drag each element or type its coordinates. Everything in millimetres from the top-left corner of the sheet.

Fine-tune coordinates For exact numeric precision. You normally do not need it — you can drag the elements right on the preview, or select one and nudge it with the arrow keys.

Check data

This data is only used to generate the PDF. It is not saved when you close the tab.

Calibration test

Print this template on plain paper, hold it against a real check up to the light, and adjust the positions until everything lands where it should.

General settings

Amount in figures

Adds room between digits and symbols. Some banks reject checks when the figures sit too close together, because a third digit fits between two tight ones.

Stub

The stub (detachable record) prints below the check, on the same sheet.

No custom fields. Add the ones your check needs.

How it works

Calibrate the printing of your checks on pre-printed forms and download the ready-to-print PDF. Save your format for reuse. Everything happens in your browser — your data never leaves your computer.

Calibrate once

Every check model has its own measurements. Calibrate the positions once for your bank, save the format, and download it whenever you need it again.

Box mode for grid forms

Many banks reject checks when the date digits do not land exactly inside the printed grid — it is the norm in Panama. The “boxes” mode lets you adjust the spacing between digits to match your bank’s form.

Anti-fraud asterisks

The amount in figures can be wrapped in asterisks (**1,234.56**) so it cannot be altered by hand — standard practice in Panamanian accounting. Without them there is blank space before and after the figure, which is exactly where somebody would add a digit.

All local

The PDF is generated in your browser. Neither the format nor the check data is sent to any server. You can check it yourself with dev tools (F12 → Network): you will not see a single outgoing request while generating.

This tool is the check-printing module of Conta24, our accounting system. In Conta24, checks are issued automatically from accounts payable, with configurable electronic signature and complete traceability. It started with property management in Panama and is expanding to general accounting for SMBs. If you need a complete accounting system, check it out: conta24.app

Can’t find your bank’s preset?

Send us a photo or scan of a blank check from your bank via WhatsApp or email, and we will publish the corresponding preset in a few days. Free — presets remain available to all users of the tool. Nothing from the check you send is stored or shared: only the calibration, that is, the millimetre measurements of where each element falls.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calibrate the first time? ▾

Use the “Calibration test” — a sheet with reference data. Print it on plain paper, hold it against a real check up to the light, and adjust the X/Y positions until each element lands exactly where it belongs. Save the format and you never have to do it again.

Can I share my format with someone else? ▾

Yes. Use “Download format” to save your calibration as a .json file and share it. The other person uses “Load format from file” to import it. Handy if you work with an accountant or an assistant.

Is my calibration saved automatically? ▾

Yes, in your browser. If you close the tab and come back later, your format is still there. If you clear the browser cache or open the tool on another computer, the settings are gone — that is why “Download format” also exists, as a backup.

Is the check data saved too? ▾

No. Only the calibration format. The data (payee, amount, date) belongs to one specific check and is cleared when you close the tab or press “Clear data”. If you are issuing several checks, fill them in one at a time.

Does it work with continuous checkbooks? ▾

Yes. In the sheet size selector pick “Custom” and enter your checkbook measurements. Adjust the check width and height to match each check in the strip. There is a “Continuous checkbook” preset to start from.

What is an electronic signature and why does this tool not have one? ▾

Electronic signing of checks is a regulated process that requires two people to authenticate, typically a manager and an authorised signer. That is Conta24 functionality, our accounting system — not this free tool. Here you print the check with its data and sign it by hand.

Need a complete accounting system?

Conta24 automates accounts payable, checks with electronic signature, bank reconciliation, reports and more. It started with property management in Panama and is now expanding to SMBs.
